ESL job interview question: How do you understand cooperative learning in the ESL context?

Recommended answer:

Cooperative learning, in the ESL context, is a teaching strategy in which students of different levels and abilities work together to improve their English language skills. They usually study in small teams. Each team has a senior member who can be  a young qualified ESL teacher or an ESL student at an advanced level. Members of the team work on projects or assignments by helping each other. They gain knowledge and experience in a particular field and, at the same time, they improve their English skills.
